The 2025 African American Mayors Association (AAMA) Annual Conference, held in Washington, D.C. from April 16–18, brought together a dynamic network of city leaders, policy experts, and future changemakers for three days of collaboration, strategy, and inspiration.
Promises Kept: AUCC Center for Excellence in Public and Government Service Enters 2nd Year
In 2022, Congresswoman Nikema Williams (GA-05) announced 15 projects across Georgia’s Fifth District to honor its civil rights legacy, reconnect communities, improve infrastructure, and support HBCUs like those in the Atlanta University Center.

A.T.I. Summer Leadership Training Application
Excellence, Purpose, Integrity
The Summer Institute readies HBCU scholars for government roles with internships and mentorship. A.T.I. Summer Leadership Training is a program to prepare HBCU scholars for public service. Application requirements include a resume, two letters of recommendation, an unofficial transcript, and application response questions. Scholars commit to two years of training and internships for hands-on preparation after graduation.
