AUC Center for Excellence & CIA Capture-The-Flag Competition Hackathon

The Hackathon event is styled like a technical Capture-The-Flag (CTF) and is intended to provide a fun and challenging environment to learn and grow in technical skills. Interested students are provided an environment where the challenges take a walk->jog->run approach as they increase in difficulty. There are a large number of challenges across a variety of technical areas providing multiple opportunities to attempt various puzzles and earn points. A scoreboard is run on the server so students can track their progress and the progress of their peers.

The CTF provides challenges in the following technical areas and is for students with the following majors: Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Systems, Information Technology, and Cyber Security.

The concepts that the student should anticipate are as follows:

• Operating Systems (Windows and Linux)
• Network Protocols (live network and PCAP analysis)
• Digital Forensics
• Cyber Security Assessment (Vulnerability and security assessment, and penetration testing)
• Computer Programming
• Databases
• Binary Reverse Engineering
